The Rector of Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) announces a single-stage selection procedure for the position of Assistant of Research and Teaching at the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology at the Institute of Biology.

Employment begins on 1 October 2025, the start of the winter term.
A person applying for this position must meet the requirements set out in Art. 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018, Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2018, item 1668 as amended), in the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) Statute.
Requirements for candidates:
Master's degree or PhD in biology, biotechnology, or another field with a biological profile.
Specialisation in the field of botany and/or plant physiology, documented by co-authorship of scientific publications or the subject of a diploma thesis or doctoral dissertation
scientific achievements in the represented field, authorship or co-authorship of at least 2 scientific monograph or scientific publications published in scientific journals listed in the current MSiHE and JCR
At least good knowledge of English, to a degree that allows independent writing of scientific publications in this language and presenting reports at scientific conferences,
Use of Polish and English to a degree that will enable conducting classes with students of biology and biotechnology or related fields, e.g. agriculture, ecological engineering
Knowledge of the Windows operating system, knowledge of programs: from the Office package, MS Teams and statistical programs such as Statista or GraphPad;
Ability to use computer databases.
The candidate's duties will include conducting scientific research, actively seeking funds for scientific research and writing scientific articles, conducting classes with students in biology and biotechnology or related fields, e.g. agriculture, ecological engineering in the fields of study carried out at SGGW.
Additional advantages of the candidate will be:
completion of an internship in a scientific centre other than SGGW in Warsaw, Poland, or abroad.
experience in teaching (conducting classes and/or lectures, or seminars)
experience in preparing research projects or their implementation as an executor or leader,
knowledge of basic analytical techniques used in biological research (e.g. microscopic techniques, PCR or HPLC)
documented activity in popularizing science,
Experience in organisational activities.

professional CV, list of scientific (list of publications, conferences, projects carried out),
pedagogical and organizational achievements,
