Protection of your personal data

1. Introduction

The web site www.euraxess.ba is maintained by University of Banja Luka. University of Banja Luka acts as the Bridgehead Organisation (Coordinator) of the EURAXESS Bosnia and Herzegovina network and as the editor and publisher of the EURAXESS Bosnia and Herzegovina website.

User accounts, as well as Jobs and Fundind databases search engines are maintained by central EURAXESS portal administration. This Privacy statement specifies the regulations for this data as well.

This privacy statement explains the reason for the processing, the way we collect, handle and ensure protection of all personal data provided, how that information is used and what rights you may exercise in relation to your data (the right to access, rectify, block etc.).

This statement concerns the EURAXESS web-portal. The EURAXESS initiative aims at facilitating the mobility of researches in the European Research Area and beyond. For this, it makes possible for the portal-registered users to look for such opportunities.

EU REGULATIONS

The European institutions are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. As this service/application collects and further processes personal data, Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 (OJ L 295, 21.11.2018) of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2018 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Community institutions and bodies and on the free movement of such data, is applicable.

This service is under the responsibility of the Head of Unit G.2 of the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD).

2. Why do we process your data?

You are free to visit www.euraxess.ba portal without sharing any personal data. In case we receive your personal data, it will be provided to us directly by you, as the website user in following cases:

  • you cooperate with us, or your data has been provided to us by your employer or partner
  • we obtained it directly from you or from a third party authorized to provide us with your information
  • you have asked us for information
  • you took part in an event organised by us.

3. Which data do we collect and process?

The personal information required for the creation of a EURAXESS account is limited to the data necessary to identify a person, which is: e-mail address, the first and last name, the current living country, their organisation/company (mandatory to create an account), the current job position , the collaboration with Researchers and Institutions, the provided by the user (optional).

In addition, users may provide additional information such as address, current job position, department, collaboration with researchers, collaboration with institutions, contact details, social accounts and personal website, any other information.

Also, users can optionally create a researcher profile with the following additional information: researcher’s profile, main research field, highest education level and discipline(s) (mandatory to create a Researcher profile), years of research experience, , publications/patents, spoken languages, job preferences, participation in Science4Refugees initiative, in other EU projects, desired job, preferred organisation, work country, type of contract, notice period and attach their CV file (optional).

The more information is provided, the higher the chances are of being found via the search functions.

If you have agreed to be part of EURAXESS mailing lists, you have the ability to unsubscribe at any time.

The personal information provided when registering a user profile in the EURAXESS database (collecting jobs, funding and partnering opportunities) is collected and processed by the European Commission (Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, Unit G.2). Please refer to the European Commission Privacy Statement.

You can always delete any personal data from the database. To do so, log in to your account and select My Euraxess; then click on User profile to update/remove personal information or to delete your Euraxess account.

4. How long do we keep your data?

The data that you provide when registering for our events will be processed and stored within our organisation only for the purpose of the event preparation. Your data will not be passed on to third parties unless it is for the purpose of co-organisation of an event with another party and unless you give us your prior consent.

We store your data for purposes strictly set out in this privacy policy and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. We never store personal data longer than necessary. In most cases, the storage period ends after 5 years from the end of cooperation with us.

USER ACCOUNTS

Your personal data shared with us is User data is retained as long as the user continues to use EURAXESS. Accounts are removed after five (5) years of inactivity. After one year, an email is sent to the data subject to offer the possibility to delete or update his/her account.

You can request to have your account deleted at any time. When an account is deleted, all related data are deleted with.

5. How do we protect your data?

The personal data that you have shared with the EURAXESS Bosnia and Herzegovina is stored in a secure environment that is not accessible to the public.

USER ACCOUNTS

All data in electronic format (e-mails, documents, uploaded batches of data etc.) are stored either on the servers of the European Commission or of its contractors; the operations of which abide by the European Commission’s security decision of 16 August 2006 [C(2006) 3602] concerning the security of information systems used by the European Commission.

The Commission’s contractors are bound by a specific contractual clause for any processing operations of your data on behalf of the Commission, and by the confidentiality obligations deriving from the transposition of Directive 95/46/CE in their establishment countries (for this specific service Italy[2] and Luxembourg[3]).

6. Who has access to your data and to whom is it disclosed?

Your personal data will be treated confidentially and according to the legal provisions regarding data protection. We only use your personal data within our organisation. It will not be passed on to third parties unless it is necessary to provide the concultancy service and only following your prior consent.

Your personal data can only be accessed by authorized employees of EURAXESS Centre, directly empolyed at and by University of Banja Luka in the course of their duties.

Personal data that you provide to EURAXESS Centres located at other organisations, listed in the BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA network section, are collected and processed in accordance to the rules stipulated by those organisations.

7. What are your rights and how can you exercise them?

EU REGULATIONS

According to Regulation (EU) 2018/1725, you are entitled to access your personal data and rectify and/or block it in case the data is inaccurate or incomplete. You can exercise your rights by contacting the data controller, or in case of conflict the Data Protection Officer and if necessary the European Data Protection Supervisor using the contact information:
