The aim is to study recent Italian interregional movements and new Italian international emigration, with a focus on areas affected by depopulation and to uncover possible diffusionist mechanisms underlying migration processes. The main data sources will consist of both primary and secondary data from official sources. At the methodological level, diffusion models will be used, including Bass's (1969) model, which originates in market analysis. In particular, it is intended to extend the original Bass model through the reparameterization of its main parameters: innovation rate and imitation rate. In particular, it is intended to give a structuralist configuration to both parameters, using regression models to link them to the economic characteristics of emigration destinations. Both descriptive analyses and analyses aimed at implementing diffusion models will be implemented.
