Take your next career step and apply for a MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship (PF) with the University of Oslo as your host institution.

MSCA PF provides researchers with a unique opportunity to work 2 or 3 years on a research project in a prestigious Host Institution abroad under the supervision of an experienced recognized scientist.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Oslo is now offering a Master Class on 1-2 of June 2021 for those applying for a MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship with our Faculty as the host institution. The Master Class is also open for candidates applying for a MSCA Global Fellowship with our Faculty as the return host institution.

If you have the support of a supervisor from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Oslo, you can apply for our MSCA Master Class by 21st May 2021, 12:00 CET. This training will increase your chances of being selected for an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship. 

As of 2021, a possibility for a 3rd year is offered to successful Marie Sklodowska-Curie European Postdoctoral Fellows hosted by our Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Oslo.

What is funded

The Master Class is free of charge, no reimbursement is offered, as the Master Class is a digital event.


Our Master Class includes a two-day digital training program on 1-2 of June 2021 for fellows and hosts offered by the University of Oslo in collaboration with Innovayt; application-writing and technical support; as well as contact and follow up by our Faculty’s EU-support team. Candidate fellows and supervisors will be guided throughout the whole application process with deadline on 15 September 2021. Only those who get funding through the European Commission’s MSCA PF program will be admitted to the University of Oslo.


There are two main eligibility requirements:

  1. The applicant must at the date of the PF call deadline (15.9.2021) be in possession of a doctoral degree, and have no more than 8 years full-time equivalent experience in research, measured from the date that the researcher was in a possession of a doctoral degree. Years of experience outside research and career breaks (e.g. due to parental leave), will not be taken into account (MSCA researcher experience).
  2. The applicant can be of any nationality bust must not have lived or worked in Norway for more than 12 months during the 3 years up to the closing date of the call 15 September 2021 (MSCA mobility rule).
